Gentle reminders – All vehicles parked in the Central Lot must remain in place until the show concludes. If you cannot stay until then, please park in the exhibit lot. Those parking in the Exotics Lot and the Porsche Corner are free to arrive and leave at any time.

Florida State College at Jacksonville car show: Last Saturday, at the downtown campus at State and Pearl streets.
Then just around the other side of the FSCJ downtown campus site where the car show was, 11 sleek single-seat Electrathon racers built by Florida high schools and colleges were competing in the 10th of a 12-race series.

A collection of significant race cars that celebrate the 50 years of historic racing will be presented August 14-17 at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The exhibit, presented by Motul, will be the centerpiece in the paddock to recognize the past featured marques and individuals who have been richly honored since historic racing began in 1974.Among the early confirmations include: A 1965 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe (shown), 1926 Miller, 1955 Jaguar D-Type, 1956 Maserati 250F, 1967 Alfa Romeo Tipo 33/2 Fleron and 1955 Mercedes-Benz W196. The 1966 Gurney Eagle Indy Car (shown) is also scheduled, along with a 1988 Nissan GTP ZX-Turbo .Former Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum Director Ellen Bireley is the event curator. |
If anyone knows how to resto-mod a classic Jaguar XJ, it’s England’s TWR.
And this carbon fiber silhouette, designed by Khyzyl Saleem in collaboration with Magnus Walker is called the TWR Supercat, with in excess of 600bhp from a supercharged V-12. It’s got a 6-speed manual gearbox – limited to 88 units, prices start at $282,000, available in the UK and major international markets including the USA.
That 88 individual builds is a number chosen to celebrate the 1988 Le Mans win in the TWR Jaguar XJR-9.
The TWR Supercat has been engineered by a team led by Fergus Walkinshaw, son of TWR founder, Tom Walkinshaw.
