Porsche has a vision – to create the fastest road-legal car on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, with a power-to-weight ratio of roughly one hp per 2.2 lbs.; more downforce than the current 911 GT3 RS; and that charges roughly twice as quickly as the Taycan Turbo S. This concept, the Mission X, is what Porsche calls “a spectacular, conceptual reinterpretation of a hypercar.”

“The Porsche Mission X is a technology beacon for the sports car of the future. It picks up the torch of iconic sports cars of decades past: like the 959, the Carrera GT and the 918 Spyder before it, the Mission X provides critical impetus for the evolutionary development of future vehicle concepts,” says Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG. “Daring to dream and dream cars are two sides of the same coin for us: Porsche has only remained Porsche by constantly changing.”

It has Le Mans-style doors that open upwards to the front, and an ultra high-performance, efficient electric powertrain. Measuring about 177 inches long and 78.7 inches wide, the Mission X concept study has a wheelbase of 107.4 inches. That’s the dimensions of the Carrera GT and 918 Spyder with staggered tires – 20-inch wheels at the front and 21-inch at the rear.

It has 900-volt system architecture, the battery installed centrally behind the vehicle’s seats.

Production is to be decided in due time, Porsche said.

The Amelia concours d’elegance returns for its 29th iteration from Feb. 29 to March 3 of 2024. And the Broad Arrow Amelia Auction will return as the official auction of The Amelia for 2024. The Amelia Auction will be extended to two days for 2024 (February 29 – March 1) following a successful inaugural event that saw $31 million in total sales and 81 percent of all lots sold. Consignment information is available at broadarrowauctions.com.

And finally…

We have told you that Jacksonville’s Brumos racing is returning for a special competition on June 26 –  Hill Climb, aka The Race to the Clouds. And we have shown you an artist rendering of the Porsche GT2 RS Clubsport that will compete in the invitational hill climb to the summit of Pikes Peak, Colo.

   Courtesy: The Brumos Collection

Here’s what the car looked like when brought to BBI Autosport, which is preparing the car for past Brumos driver David Donohue to wheel up the mountain course.

Now here’s what it’s looking like now in the in the iconic Brumos 59 red, white, and blue livery for what is the first competition for the racing team since 2013. That is when it retired from 50 years of competition.

Courtesy: The Brumos Collection

The Jacksonville-based dealership was sold in 2016, but the iconic race cars that Brumos drivers like Peter Gregg and Hurley Haywood campaigned at Le Mans, Daytona and elsewhere are now on display at the new Brumos Collection, along with some amazing Indy race cars, and some concours-quality classics.

The collection opened in 2020 to the public at 5959 San Pablo Road S. And word is that when the latest No. 59 screams up the peak, it has an honored spot at the 35,000 sq. ft. interactive museum.

2021 Roar Before the Rolex 24 Hyperlapse Video – From Our Official Photographer, Deremer Studios, LLC

First Coast Car Culture’s official photographer, Deremer Studios, was hired by BMW to cover the Rolex 24 at Daytona at the Daytona International Speedway. Their team traveled to the “Roar” event the preceding weekend and created this fantastic video:

“With just a week before the IMSA Rolex 24 at Daytona and our race weekend work for BMW, I took my oldest down for a rare day as a spectator at the Roar Before the Rolex 24. But I still couldn’t resist… I took my camera… and 1,500 photos… which I have compressed into this short hyperlapse video. These are unedited – a gallery with the final products will come soon. Even with the competition bubble in place, some of my favorite general public shooting locations are still available and in my opinion, it’s still well worth the ticket price.” Nathan, Deremer Studios, LLC.

VIDEO “Twice Around – The 2020 HSR Classic 24 by IMSA in 4K Hyperlapse – Daytona”

The HSR (Historic Sportscar Racing, LLC) Classic 24 Hour is a yearly event open to cars that were raced from 1960 through 2013 at Daytona. This year’s event was held November 4-7, 2020, Deremer Studios, LLC , Jacksonville Car Culture’s official photographer, was on site to capture the magic.

From Deremer Studios, LLC:

Despite a global pandemic, HSR put on a safe and successful Classic 24 race at the iconic Daytona International Speedway. In addition to our photography from the event, we brought along our old trusty tripod and a second camera to capture hyperlapse video of the race. Here’s the final result:

Deremer Studios Chronicles the 2020 HSR Classic 24 at Daytona International Speedway

Nate Deremer, of Deremer Studios, LLC JCC’s official photographer, visited Daytona International Speedway November 4-8, 2020 for the HSR Classic 24 Hour at Daytona presented by IMSA.

The HSR (Historic Sportscar Racing, LLC) Classic 24 Hour is a yearly event open to cars that were raced from 1960 through 2013 at Daytona. A little tweak to the 24 Hour tradition, instead of running all the cars throughout the night the field is divided into race groups from specific periods that are run at four different times throughout a 24 hour period. Each race consists of 45 minutes of track time which includes a five-minute pit stop for non-mandatory driver changes.

See the full list of entrants here

Nate’s photos are always incredible and his shots at Daytona’s historic racetrack do not disappoint. View the photo album on the Deremer Studios, LLC website at
